EORI unique: the transition and impacts of the 2026-2027 calendar
In the continuation of our previous news on France Sesame, new steps confirm the progress of the transition to the unique EORI based on the SIREN. DGDI, in its communication of 22 April 2026, looks back at the next steps in this development. The aim is to move from a system where the same operator could have several identifiers linked to its institutions to a unique identifier for all.
Since 2025, the movement is already well underway: new applications go directly through the EORI SIREN in European systems, and some of the authorisations have already been updated. The others follow their normal cycle until they are renewed or due.
The continuation concerns several types of authorisations used daily (export, temporary storage, authorized places, shipment or receipt in customs...). Their updating will be done gradually, with steps that will vary depending on the case: sometimes a simple modification, sometimes a new application to be filed in the dedicated tools. Time limits will be allowed to allow everyone to adapt without disruption.
