Some customer cases

Customs advice for a customer manufacturer of hardware

Background:
A hardware manufacturer transforms third-party materials in its factory in France, then exports its finished products to South Korea.

Problem:
Can it benefit from a preferential export origin, so that its South Korean customer is exempt from import duties?

Our support:
We carried out an expert mission to determine the preferential origin of its goods and accompanied the filing of the customs file.

Outcome:
The client has secured his internal process and obtained the status ofapproved exporter, which enabled him to declare a preferential origin in full conformity.

Customs classification of a range of steel products to secure imports

Background:
An importer customer wishes to ensure that the customs nomenclatures used for the customs clearance of its imported goods are correct.

Problem:
It also wishes to verify whether its imported products fall within the scope of the Carbon Adjustment at Frontiers Mechanism (MACF), in order to comply and anticipate possible reporting or tax obligations.

Our support:
We have achieved a provision of verification and analysis of customs nomenclatures its products to confirm their classification and determine their possible inclusion in the MACF perimeter.

Outcome:
The customer is reassured because it will not have to set up a complex internal organisation and will not be subject to an additional tax on the entry of its products into EU territory. He optimized his customs classification and saved time.

Direct representation to customs on behalf of an industrial lubricant manufacturing company

Background:
This customer wishes to optimize all customs operations related to its exports.

Problem:

The logistics department of this company requested companies that could provide a single customs representation. It is the expertise of ACTE International that has captured its interest because it allows it to have a global approach to its needs and to offer a more complete support than envisaged, such as customs optimization on Turkey with the pre-authentication of ATRs*, or any other customs council.

Our support:

ACTE International is the unique registered Customs Representative of this customer for the realization of approximately 2000 declarations per year + 200 EUR1 + some import customs.

For this company, ACTE International has also put in place a PDD (Domicile Customs Clearance Procedure) and the optimization of ATRs* with pre-authentication.

*An ATR is a certificate used for the movement of goods between the European Union and Turkey.

Outcome:

  • The reduction of delays: the customer keeps the trucks on his site until the customs is done (knowing that several dozens of trucks are loaded per day) therefore by reducing the processing time by the PDD he saves time and space on his site; lorries leave earlier so improved delivery times.
  • Cost reduction: The price was negotiated over the whole volume processed.
  • Simplification of administrative and archiving processing: Thanks to the centralisation of all customs activity on a single RDE.
