EU / Madagascar : modification of the proof of origin
Theimports of originating products within the preferential meaning of Madagascarcannot be managed with the presentation of a EUR1 certificate from 2023. The tariff preference will now have to be sought with the help of a Declaration of Origin on Invoice, as part of the concept of the Registered Exporter, for all sales over 6000 €.
This change is taking place as part of the gradual updating of the original evidence provided for in the Interim Economic Partnership Agreement between the European Union and Eastern and Southern Africa, replacing the Agreement. « Africa Caribbean Pacific ».
As a reminder, to date, the REX system has been used in EPA with Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Eastern and Southern Africa. Other countries still use the EUR1 Certificate of Origin or a Declaration of Origin on Invoice, as part of the status of the Approved Exporter.
