Tunisia: New import measures for consumer goods
On Saturday 8 October, the Tunisian Ministries of Trade, Industry and Health issued a joint communiqué announcing the adoption by the government,from 17 October 2022a system of pre-import control of consumer goods with, moreover, the obligation to import them directly from manufacturing plants.
In other words, Tunisian importers will have to place their orders from online manufacturers (it will no longer be possible to buy from intermediaries or agents) and take into account new formalities before they can clear the goods on arrival.
The products concerned by these new measures are listed in*. It should be noted that theproducts placed on the Tunisian market for consumption; onraw materials imported for the manufacture of finished products are not concerned.
