International transport: oil beyond USD 80
Thanks to a demand in full boom, the barrel of black gold crossed thecap of USD 80and thus regains its level of October 2018. What a joy to producers!
The exit of the crisis combined with the restart of theRoad and air transportdemand for oil and raise prices. In addition, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which had anticipated this rebound (cf.International transport: oil at its highest level in 2 years) and decided to gradually increase itsproduction quotas, manages to regulate the offer. This is even below planned levels due to disruptions in Angola, Nigeria and Kazakhstan.
The member countries will meet next Monday to decide whether to open the taps. Meanwhile, forecasters anticipate a US$90 barrel at the end of the year.
