Sourcing Cambodia: new minimum wage increase in 2025
As of 1 January 2025, the minimum monthly wage for workers in the textile sector in Cambodia is expected to be adjusted to $208. An increase of $4 over 2024.
In Cambodia, the minimum wage in the textile, clothing, footwear and travel products industries should beincrease from 1 January 2025For regular workers, the figure is USD 208 and for trial workers, the figure is USD 206, an increase of USD 4 over 2024. Last year, a 2% increase was granted to workers in this sector in January 2024 (cf.Sourcing Cambodia: Minimum wage increase in 2024).
In addition to this salary increase, workers should receive the following benefits for attendance, transportation, rent and seniority:
- Presence premium of USD 10 per month,
- Travel and accommodation costs of USD 7 per month,
- Meal allowances of $0.50 per day,
- Overtime and seniority premium ranging from 2 to 11 USD per month, starting with 2 years of seniority.
The textile industry accounts for 10 per cent of Cambodian GDP and 70 per cent of Cambodia's exports. It employs nearly 800,000 people, a majority of whom are women, in 1077 factories.
