Sanctions Russia: Russian ships carrying foodstuffs banned from Dutch ports
The Netherlands has decided to close all ports in the country to Russian food vessels.
While the European Union has prohibited Russian ships from accessing all ports of the Old Continent with the exception of certain vessels carrying foodstuffs in particular (Article 3e bis of theRegulation EU 833/2014), the Netherlands has just announced that the latter would no longer be allowed to enter the ports of the country to unload their cargo.
This measure, taken by the Dutch government, is a cut-off from any threat of espionage, suspicions for several months on some of these ships sometimes moored near military bases.
