Sea freight: new port rendezvous system in Le Havre
Obsolete « Truck Adjustment System » (TAS) On 8 February 2018, the Générale de manipulation portporte (GMP) has put in place on the terminal of France its own system of making appointments to the road hauliers.
To make appointments more fluid and dynamic, the new system will offer new benefits:In order to minimize waiting times and unladen laps, carriers with two appointments on different schedules will be able to group them together on one.
Unused reserved slots should also be released in a more reactive manner for the benefit of the carrier community.
Unanimously plebic by the transport unions of Le Havre, the new system is entering its second phase of deployment
which includes access to appointments « Flex », allowing carriers to anticipate appointments and pilot their delivery schedule further upstream.
Lightly flat, the GMP announced that late cancellations and unscheduled appointments (« no-show ») would eventually be invoiced. Some handlers aska reciprocity of these penalties, especially in case of delay of the terminal... A bonus-malus system would be under discussion.
