VOCID-19 and Customs: storage facilities for operators

Temporary arrangements granted by customs for the storage of goods during the crisis of VOCID-19.

Due to the problems related to the congestion of storage areas resulting from the closure of logistics chains, the Directorate-General for Customs (DGDDI) has taken the following decisions for temporary application:

  • Economic operators with Temporary Storage Facilities (ISTs) may retain temporary storage facilities. goods already released for consumption and pending delivery.
  • The maximum period of stay in IST zone, from 90 to 120 days for in-bond goods.
  • The OAS certified operators may store goods under Customs Warehouse (ED) in previously unapproved places, subject to
    • inform the competent customs office in advance;
    • maintain a material accounting dedicated to stored products.

These facilities temporary may be extended to non-OAS certified operators to the Economic Action Pole on which they depend, if the situation persists longer than expected.
