BREXIT: New British Parliament vote postponed to 12 March!

After the British Parliament failed the draft agreement, a second vote was due to take place on 27 February, but Theresa May decided otherwise....

As the fateful date of 29 March 2019 approaches a great step (cf. BREXIT: Theresa May's devastating defeat in the British Parliament), all European traders have, among other things, their eyes on the UK to finally know the outcome of the Brexit saga: Hard Brexit ? Soft Brexit? No Brexit? New Brexit?...

Earlier this week, the Prime Minister announced that the vote was postponed to 12 March... only 17 days before the official exit date of the European Union!

It hopes to have more time to negotiate with Brussels on the Irish border, the famous « backstop » or « safety net« , in order to get British parliamentarians to approve the planned separation negotiated with the EU.

Theresa May subsequently unveiled a « Plan B » which should allow Members to vote on 13 March for or against an exit without agreement : in the case of a vote « against »They should decide the following day (14 March) on their willingness to postpone the date of Brexit, an option which Mrs May said she did not agree to...

It remains to be seen whether the Member States of the European Union would also accept a delay in this deadline...
