Dual Use Assets: Change of List
The European Union has updated the list of Dual Use Goods (DUIs), applicable on 6 January 2022.
UDBs are goods and equipment, including software or technology, the normal use of which can be diverted to contribute to the development, production, operation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD – nuclear, biological, chemical, etc.).
A further update of theList of BDUswas published in the Official Journal* 6 January 2022. It is essential for exporters to study this new version to see if their products could potentially be affected by the regulation. If necessary, they would be subject tocontrolswhich would require theExport licences.
As a reminder, the regulation on UDBs was completely reviewed by the European Union last September (cf.Dual Use Goods: Recasting the Regulation applicable on 10/09/21).
