Australia & New Zealand: Phytosanitary treatment against marbled bugs

Australian and New Zealand Ministries of Agriculture have put in place measures to control marbled bugs, requiring phytosanitary treatment of packaging and certain goods.

From 1 September 2018 (date of departure of the vessel), all packaging and the High-risk goods (Chapters 36, 44, 45, 57, 68 to 70, 72 to 89 and 93) to Australia and New Zealand and coming from the following countries must show a Phytosanitary treatment certificate.

  • France
  • Italy
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Romania
  • Georgia
  • Russia
  • United States
  • Japan

Phytosanitary treatment must be carried out by a company licensed by the Australian and New Zealand authorities.

Attention

untreated goods will be returned to the country of export or destroyed locally.
