UKRAINE: withdrawal of GSP on 01/01/2018

The European Union excluded Ukraine from its Generalised Tariff Preferences (GSP) system on 1 January 2018.

Since 01/11/2012, Ukraine has been part of the list of beneficiary countries of the European Union GSP.

However, this country has concluded a free trade agreement (FTA) with the EU on 01/01/2016 which provides for tariff preferences more favourable than GSP.

The Commission has therefore decided to withdraw Ukraine as a GSP beneficiary country.

Pursuant to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/217 (OJ L34/17) of 05/12/16, Ukraine is no longer part of the general GSP scheme as from 01/01/2018.
