EU / Ivory Coast: agreement on the concept of « originating products »

The Protocol on rules of origin was validated by the European Union under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with Côte d'Ivoire.

The Council of the European Union adopted Protocol No 1 concerning the definition of the concept of « originating products » and the methods of administrative cooperation contained in the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Ivory Coastand the European Community (signed in Abidjan on 26 November 2008).

This protocol provides for the rules of origin to facilitate trade between economic operators and to optimise the use of preferential treatment provided for in the Agreement.

The protocol refers in particular to the definition of the concept of « originating products », territorial conditions, proof of origin…
