Road transport: mandatory reduction of CO2 emissions from new trucks in the EU
TRANSPORT
The first EU carbon impact legislation was formally adopted by the European Parliament on 18/04/2019: new heavy-duty vehicles will have to reduce their CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030.
An intermediate objective of 15% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions was set in 2025.
Manufacturers will therefore have to find
alternative solutions to diesel and monitor that zero-emission or low-emission vehicles account for at least 2% of new vehicle sales by 2025.
