Switzerland: Temporary suspension of customs duties on textiles on 01/07/2019

SUPLY CHAIN

The Federal Council adopted the Ordinance on the Temporary Suspension of Tariffs on Textiles and will be applicable as of July 2019.

In order to help its textile industry, Switzerland has decided to temporarily abolish customs duties on textile materials (cf. Swiss export: towards a total abolition of customs duties?).

For example, most of the classifications falling within Customs chapters 50 to 60 will be exempt from customs duties when imported into Switzerland.

This measure, which begins on July 1, 2019, will end in December 2023.
