After an increase of 20% last year (cf. Sourcing Turkey: increase in minimum wage on 1 January 2021), the minimum wage applicable in Turkey has again been raised for 2022. He'll pass from 2 826 TRY ($173) 4 250 TRY (USD 274) or one increase by more than 50% for a single worker, single and without children. This amount should be adjusted upwards if the worker is married and according to the number of children in the home.
President Erdogan also said that this increase in wages would be accompanied by measures that would reduce costs for employers, including the abolition of minimum wage taxes.
The Turkish Government declares that it is taking these steps to counter the adverse effects of currency price fluctuations and galloping inflation, with the aim of boosting the purchasing power of workers.
