The Government of Malaysia will apply a new standard minimum wage of RM 1,050/month (EUR 217) or RM 5,05/h (EUR 1,04) nationally on 01/12/2019.
The Office of the Prime Minister (PMO) of Malaysia confirms this growth trend for the coming years.
Currently,The monthly minimum wage is RM 1,000 for Peninsular Malaysia and RM 920 for the states of Sabah, Sarawak and the federal territory of Labuan.
To limit inflation,e government urges businesses and traders not toincrease the prices of goods and services in the internal market after the introduction of the new minimum wage: The aim is to postpone to the maximum the increase in the cost prices on exports.
