Rules of Origin: WCO launches a new online tool!
The ICC and the WCO have put online a tool allowing companies to search for available free trade agreements and to benefit more easily from tariff reductions!
On 28 June 2018, the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) put online a tool allowing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to search for available free trade agreements and to benefit more easily from tariff reductions.
The ITC-WCO Rules of Origin Facilitator (Facilitator of the ICC-MDG rules of origin) was designed to help companies in developing countries benefit more from preferential trade agreements.
Available online at www.findroulesoforigin.org, « web app » (web application) contains information on trade agreements and customs duty rates applicable to products.
The database includes specific rules of origin by customs headingand the provisions on the certification of origin.
The user will also find information on the necessary documents such as Certificates of origin (C/O).
According to the ITC, « The online tool is complete in its coverage providing information on all tradable goods, ranging from raw agricultural products to sophisticated machinery and electronics.«
