REACH: Call for comments on 8 substances before inclusion in Annex XIV

A public consultation on priority substances to be included in Annex XIV to REACH has just been launched. You have until May 2, 2022 to submit your comments.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has just launched a call for information on eight substances proposed for inclusion in annex XIV in its last draft recommendation.

If you have information about these substances, their use, the structure and complexity of their supply chains, it is time to make your voice heard!

Your comments can be sent until 2 May 2022. They will be taken into account in the draft recommendation to be discussed in the Committee of Member States (MSC), which is responsible for resolving differences of opinion between Member States on proposals for the identification of substances of high concern (SVHC). After the discussions, the version obtaining MSC approval will become ECHA's 11th official recommendation. The Commission will then propose to the REACH Committee a draft Regulation amending Annex XIV to the REACH Regulation.

In parallel, the European Commission also requests information on the possible socio-economic consequences of including these substances in the authorisation list. This information will be forwarded directly to the Commission and will not be taken into account by ECHA.
