Child Labour Report: How are your sourcing countries?

The US report « 2021 Findings On The Worst Forms Of Child Labor » highlights the progress made by each of the 131 countries studied in eliminating the worst forms of child labour in the world. A tool that can be useful when choosing sourcing.

The Bureau of International Labour Affairs (ILAB) of the US Ministry of Labour has just published its annual report « 2021 Findings On The Worst Forms Of Child Labor »*. This document shows that most of the 131 countries and territories examined in the world continue toprogress towards eliminationworst forms of child labour. Each country has gone through it with a magnifying glass to see whether, from one year to the next, significant, moderate, minimal or no progress has been made on this subject.

In 2021, 9 countries were assessed as having made significant progress, 73 as having made moderate progress, 37 as having made minimal progress and 9 as having made no progress.

Almost 2,200 concrete actions are also recommended, per country, on how best to combat child labour abuse.

It is therefore a valuable tool that allows companies toassessing risks according to country of sourcingandexercise due diligence on their supply chains.
