Update on shipments to the United States: delay and temporary suspension of shipments B2C

If you ship products to individuals in the United States, beware: DHL Express announces a temporary suspension for certain packages starting April 21, 2025. Here's what we need to know.

DHL Express has recently shared important information: due to new customs rules in the United States, all shipments valued at more than USD 800 must now undergo a stricter customs clearance procedure. This threshold was previously set at $2,500.

This change, in effect since 5 April 2025, results in a lot of traffic jams on the customs side, with delays of several days at the key. To address this situation, DHL temporarily suspends B2C shipments (i.e. to individuals) when the value exceeds USD 800.

Shipments between enterprises (B2B) are not affected by this suspension, but they too may be subject to delays.

This is a temporary measure, and DHL will communicate as evolution progresses.

If you are involved or working with customers in the United States, it is recommended to anticipate and inform your partners now.
