Currently in 69th place (out of 190) of the Doing Business 2018 ranking However, Morocco remains among the top 3 African economies (sub-Saharan Africa and Maghreb) that are most conducive to business.
But the Moroccan economy still suffers from a low growth in the industrial and service sectors, as well as an unproductive investment as half oriented towards real estate.
Other brakes, the main projects that must be carried out by Morocco in order to achieve a true status « emerging »: payment deadlines, solvency, transparency, etc. Thus, the business failure indicator that jumped by 23% in 2016 is expected to remain high although in deceleration: +12% in 2017 and +8% in 2018.
Finally, few movements on the export markets Despite a growth of 6.3% in 2017: the European Union will still concentrate more than 40% of Morocco's exports (main sectors: automotive, aeronautics and agri-food), while the United States, China, India and the Middle East will share most of the remaining 60%.
As regards bilateral exchanges with France, the experts from Euler Hermes report that EUR 100 million in additional outlets in 2018, « French exporters will be able to take advantage of the resilience of the Moroccan economy to win new market shares internationally ».
