India: Increase in textile tariffs

In line with the ‘Make in India', India announces an increase in tariffs for more than 50 textile products.
On 16 July, the Ministry of Finance of India published a list of 50 textile products for which the rate of customs duty is increasing from 10 to 20%.
India, which loses its attractiveness in the manufacture of textile products for the benefit of China, Bangladesh or Cambodia, reacts by increasing customs duties in order to oblige major brands in the textile sector to manufacture in its territory.
This increase applies to different products ranging from Chapters 53 to 63, such as synthetic fabric jackets, cotton pants and shorts or carpets...
