Sea freight: a shipper charters his own ship
The third US importer in volume of containerized goods has just announced that it reservesa complete vessel for its own use. This one will allow him toensure boarding and routingfrom China to the United States. No details have yet been given on the capacity of the container carrier, nor on the ports of departure and arrival, nor on the duration of the operation.
The company used air shipments to alleviate the difficulties encountered by the maritime sector but this solution is only possible for small and high value products and cannot be considered for the shipment of all goods.
