In view of the resurgence of incidents in the Gulf of Guinea, statistics of the Global piracy went up in 2018: cThe area remains the most dangerous and the level of risk continues to rise.

Acts of piracy between Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of the Congo more than doubled last year, with 82 incidents recorded.
