Rail freight: regular connection between Switzerland and the ports of Marseille-Fos and HAROPA
Launch on 4 September of a railway connection between the two major French ports and Switzerland.
This shuttle, with 3 connections a week, will connect the ports of Marseille-Fos (Mediterranean) and d* Switzerland (north of Lausanne).
The convoys will be able to carry 20 and 40 foot containers (Dry, high cube or flat without exceeding).
This railway link allows the hinterlands of the 2 ports to conquer market shares beyond the national territory and to propose a alternative to the major ports of the North Europe.
The potential of the Swiss container market is estimated at between 350,000 and 400,000 TEUs/year.
This development of rail transport represents an opportunity for supply chains wishing to subscribe to a CSR approach and reduce their carbon footprint.
