Export USA: Disturbed maritime traffic
The traffic of maritime exports to the United States is currently experiencing more and more problems, especially in the port of New York...
The different maritime alliances on the transatlantic lines have reduced their capacity by 4%, while volume demands have increased!
As a result, many shippers have decided to route their flows through neighbouring Canada.
Consequences of these changes: the port of Montreal is engorged, delays are foreseen in the various port operations, the companies change the rotation of the ships... and to make up for these delays no longer in European ports !
The shipping companies have already announced a General increase in marine freight rates (GRI - General Rate Increase) as of 1 April 2019 to North American ports.
