Export Ivory Coast: certificate of conformity required on 16/04/2018

The Government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire has established a Compliance Verification (VOC) programme for imported goods. Initially scheduled for March 1, the date of application of the decree has been shifted to April 16, 2018.

The aim of this programme is to: protect consumersIvorians non-compliant, counterfeit and potentially dangerous goods.

Excluding the products listed in the annex to the Decree (see link below), the Compliance Verification Programme applies to all products intended for import into Côte d'Ivoire of which the FOB value is greater than or equal to one million (1,000,000) CFA francs.

For each shipment of products subject to the program, the exporter must obtain a certificate of conformity (COC) issued by a laboratory commissioned by the Ivorian government.

From 16 April (date of transport document), a COC will be required for customs clearanceGoods In the absence of a certificate, a penalty of 50% of the CIF value will be applied with referral, followed by the destruction of the cargo at the expense of the importer.
