Export China: evolution of ATA carnet

Since January 9, 2019, China has accepted the ATA Carnet for commercial samples and professional equipment.
Since 1998, importers and exporters could use the ATA Book in China but only for fairs and fairs, and for a maximum duration of 6 months.
Recognizing the benefits of the scheme, China decided to open the scope of the ATA carnet in 2019.
The Chinese Customs has indicated in a press release that it is now possible to use an ATA carnet for commercial samples andprofessional equipment, 12 months.
As a reminder, the ATA book is a international customs procedure which replaces the customs declarations normally required for import/temporary export operations and allows the suspension of duties and taxes.
