Brazil export: further elimination of import duties

Brazil has abolished customs duties for computer and telecommunications products as well as certain capital goods.

After a first salve at the end of June 2018 (cf. Brazil export: revision of customs import duties), in August the Brazilian government eliminated import tariffs for many goods through two resolutions:

  • Resolution 54: 23 nomenclatures* concerning Chapters 84, 85 and 90.
  • Resolution 55: 139 nomenclatures* concerning Chapters 73, 84, 85, 89 and 90.

These measures entered into force on 10/08/2018 and are intended to be applied until 30/06/2020 in order to remedy the lack of domestic production.

* Lists of nomenclatures concerned available to our subscribers on request.
