United States / China: further postponement of US tariff increases on Chinese products

SUPLY CHAIN

Initially scheduled on 1 January 2019, the increase in customs import duties from 10 to 25% on more than 6000 products « Made in China » had been postponed to 01/03/2019 by the US administration for trade negotiations.

For about 3 months, US and Chinese negotiators have been meeting to find common ground (cf.International trade: pause in trade war United States vs China.) ... and it seems to bear those fruits!

Indeed, even though no agreement has been formalized to date, the US President has decided to move the date of entry into force of this measure again... without indicating a new deadline.

An announcement on the progress of bilateral negotiations should be made shortly, which will allow us to learn more about the future of trade relations between China and the United States.
