DELTA T: a new key feature for transit declarations
DELTA T is the French system of management of transit operations, interfaced with the NCTS (new computerised transit system) It allows companies (importers, freight forwarders, RDEs, etc.) and administrations to exchange in real time all information relating to goods moving under customs in the EU and in the transit partner countries.
Since 2021, all operators concerned have been using this system, which must evolve with each NCTS update in order to remain in line with the EU Customs Code (CDU) and achieve total dematerialisation of procedures by the end of 2025.
Currently, DELTA T works with the Phase 5 NCTS, the latest version and deployed in all user countries.
On 28 October, the French customs authorities announced a new development of the system: the opening of the option to rectify transit declarations T1 (external transit) and T2 (Community transit). This feature allows you to change a status statement « anticipated » or « validated » (waiting from Bond to Remove (BAE)), subject to customs authorisation through the applicative.
Attention, at this stage, the rectification is only accessible to operators working in DTI mode (direct access to the customs portal). Publishers offering EDI solutions are currently being certified by Customs.
