DELTA I: the official customs bulletin has arrived!
The new customs clearance system in France DELTA IE is being deployed since 26 November 2024 in its part « Importation ». This system terminates the SAD (Single Administrative Document), the customs declaration known in paper form, and materializes the transition from the declaration to electronic data. This new system will enable France to comply with the CDU (Union Customs Code) and to connect to the various European systems linked to international trade (transit systems, temporary storage systems and security data for goods).
In its last webinar of 19 February 2025, the Customs confirmed compliance with the timetable for the deployment of DELTA I and its mandatory nature from May 2025 for all economic operators.
In parallel with the webinar, an administrative note was published by the administration to provide operators with detailed information on the data expected in the new system. It should be noted that this publication is likely to evolve according to changes made to the system and any bug fixes that may result from its rise in power.
As regards the export part of DELTA IE, information should be provided later this year.
As a reminder, all EU Member States must connect to European systems by the end of the year, which explains the multitude of changes and the numerous communications from customs on the subject at present.
