As every year, the Community Regulation on customs nomenclatures applicable for the following year was published at the end of October. As a reminder, this update for financial year 2023 comes from the European Union and concerns only the last four digits of the nomenclatures. The latest update of the World Organisation for Customs (WCO), which came into force on 1 January 2022 and which has led to numerous changes in the codifications at HS 6 level, will not be subject to any recasting that in 2027.
Only 42 nomenclatures are subject to corrections at the level of the last four digits for the year 2023.
The customs positions which will be affected as from 1 January are as follows:
- 08.09 (fruit) – 3 changes
- 10.06 (rice) – 7 changes
- 25.30 (mineral matter) – 4 changes
- 26.19 (waste from pig iron, steel) – 2 changes
- 28.05 (Rare Earth metals) – 4 changes
- 28.46 (composed of rare earth metals) – 4 changes
- 29.17 (acids) – 2 changes
- 44.21 (other wood articles) – 2 changes
- 76.01 (aluminium in raw form) – 4 changes
- 84.62 (other machinery) - 1 change
- 84.85 (3D printers) – 2 changes
- 85.04 (static converters) – 5 changes
- 85.01 (electromagnets) – 2 changes
