China: New regulations on transport documents on 01/06

Chinese Customs has just introduced a new procedure applicable on 1 June 2018.

This applies to: all shipments to or through China by air or sea, whatever the companies.

Hong Kong is also affected by this regulation.

The following must be included on the transport documents (LTA or BL):

  1. The full details of theSender Name, full address, contact (TE) and code (country code followed by company code). For France, country code (FR) + Siren or European VAT Number
  2. The full details of the Recipient : name, full address, contact (TE), name of the person in charge and code (country code followed by the company code). For China, country code (CN) + USCI or OC Number
  3. The full details of the notify (if there is one), name, contact and code

NB: The description of the goods must be complete and precise.

List of acceptable designations on request.

All this information must be included in the transport documents in order to be transmitted to Chinese customs.

In the case of incomplete or missing information, shipments can be blocked in China by customs, and subject to any fees or fines.
