China / ASEAN: Trade record in 2017!

According to official figures from the Chinese Ministry of Trade, 2017 saw a marked increase in bilateral trade between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

China/ASEAN bilateral trade totalled USD 514.8 billion last year (+13.8%), the fastest growth recorded between China and its major trading partners.

Chinese exports to ASEAN reached USD 279.1 billion in 2017 (+9%), while imports increased by 20% to USD 235.7 billion.

China's trade surplus is down 27.4% compared to 2016.

Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand were China's first trading partners in the region last year.
