Objective:
avoid congestion of infrastructure during customs clearance.

To date, the trans-shipped flows represent nearly 5 million lorries, and the current infrastructure would not absorb physical control at port border posts.
With this new system, ferry lines and the Channel Tunnel would be considered road and ro-ro bridges.
