BREXIT: What cost for businesses?

As the Brexit negotiations are in full swing, a new study highlights the cost of leaving the UK for businesses.

Bad news for the European Union: its companies will also face significant additional costs to enter the UK market.

A first scenario, according to which no EU – UK free trade agreement would be concludedestimated the additional costs for EU and UK companies at EUR 65 billion.

An agreement for a EU – UK customs union, imagined in the second scenario, would reduce the bill by almost half. European companies will be the big winners of such an agreement, rising from an additional cost of EUR 35 billion to EUR 16 billion.
