Argentina: Export tax introduced on 01/01/2019

SUPLY CHAIN

Decree 793, published on 4 September 2018, introduces an export tax for all customs nomenclatures.

It introduces a tax on 12% on the FOB value of goods, with a ceiling equivalent to 4 Argentine pesos (ARS)for each USD,on all products exported from Argentina.

This measure is temporary, it will enter into force on 1 January 2019 and should be suspended at the end of 2020.

As the country is in serious financial and economic crisis, this decree aims to restore fiscal balance.
