The List of Substances of Extreme Concern (SVHC) or Candidate List was updated on July 8, 2021 and now includes219 substances.
Some of the added substances are used in consumer products such ascosmetics, theperfumed articles,rubberandTextiles. Others are used as solvents, flame retardants or for making plastic products.
They have been included in the candidate list because of their danger to human health: they are reproductively toxic, carcinogenic, respiratory sensitizers or endocrine disruptors.
The 8 new substances on the list are:
