Turkey import alert: ATR invalidated by European customs!

CUSTOMS

Within the framework of the EU/Turkey Customs Union, some ATRs targeted by a Istanbul customs office could penalize Community importing companies.

It seems that a new Customs office in Istanbul established in 2016 The European customs authorities were notified only on 1 January 2019 (see name and address below).

Consequences : the ATR documents used under the name of this Turkish office between 2016 and 31/12/2018 could possibly be rendered obsolete.

After analysing some ATR documents received to the European Union, it was found that this office was included in those documents for the period in dispute.

However, for the moment, the European Commission which has been seized of the problem has not yet decided on the subject.

As a result, we will keep you informed of developments as soon as we become aware of them.
