On 27 August 2018, the US President publicly stated that he had reached an agreement that could be signed within 3 months with the Mexico.

Following this announcement, the Canada, the 3rd partner of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), has therefore rushed back to the negotiating table so as not to be on the sidelines...
To date, and despite intense talks, no agreement has yet been reached between Canada and the United States: the arm of iron continues, even though the Trump administration seems to have taken on a net upward trend...
The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, said, however, that he would not comply with all American requirements.
